Six Must Do's if you are looking for a job

  1. Register with us
If you are enrolled in a 6-12 mathematics or science teacher certification program and will be certified to teach before Fall 2008, please complete the Pre-service Teacher Form and we will inform you as teaching, professional development and scholarship opportunities become available.

  2. View positions available
The pdf document Current Positions gives a list of positions available at our partner school districts.

  3. Set up your REAP account
The Regional Education Applicant and Placement (REAP) Program facilitates and streamlines the process of applying to teaching positions in multiple school districts. Among other things, it provides an online application that is accessed my many employers— in some cases, it is the only application accepted. Note: New Jersey does not participate in the REAP program.

  4. Attend the Greater Philadelphia Teacher Job Fair
In March, over 100 employers will be present at the Fort Washington EXPO. Interviews are often given on the spot. Prepare to spend the day exploring opportunities. For more information visit the Fair website.

  5. Be knowledgeable about certification requirements
Find out more by visiting the Department of Education for your state:
  6. Know the type of curriculum a district uses
Each department is different - with its own culture, its own learning philosophy and its own curriculum. Before you choose a school district and certainly before your interview consider these curricula adopted by some of our partner schools.
