  • The 3RD Math and Science Majors Fair>
    Thursday, March 1, 2007 6:30- 8:30 The Da Vinci Science Center, Allentown, PA
    The third MSPGP Mathematics and Science Majors Fair will be held in the new Da Vinci Discovery Center of Science and Technology located in its new state-of-the-art facility adjacent to Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA. We are seeking enthusiastic undergraduate students to enter into dialog with highschool students who may want to pursue math, science or education in college. Undergraduate students who wish to be presenters for the next majors fair can register with the Event Undergraduate Participation Registration Form

  • Bus Trip from the Bangor to Bryn Mawr and Haverford
    September 25, 2007 7am - 7pm
    Twenty seven students from Bangor High School's Gifted program visited Haverford and Bryn Mawr College. 11 women went to Bryn Mawr and sat in on a Calculus class and a chemistry class. Subsequently they enjoyed the traditional college tour and talked personally with students and admissions representatives.

    At the same time 16 students were enjoying an interactive chemistry class at Haverford that used "clicker technology" They too enjoyed the traditional college tour and engaged their student tour guide who was a biology major. Each group got to dine on campus and observe student interaction in a casual setting.

  • Bus Trip from the Lehigh Valley to the Philadelphia's mainline
    Saturday, April 1, 2006 7am - 7pm
    The pick up location in the Lehigh Valley will be announced shortly. The bus trip is an opportunity for high school students to visit the three prestigious MSPGP colleges -Villanova University, Bryn Mawr College and Haverford College -located along Lancaster road in the heart of Philadelphia's mainline: Details will be available shortly.Interested persons from MSPGP partner high schools should use the Event Undergraduate Participation Registration Form
  • Majors Fair
    Wednesday, September 28th, 2005 6:30- 8:30 Strath Haven High School, Wallingford
    The first MSPGP Mathematics and Science Majors Fair was a tremendous success. Ten Colleges sent students and/or admissions representatives to talk specifically about majoring in mathematics, science and math/science education. The undergraduate students displayed posters that illustrated college level math and science, their daily regiments, their course loads and extracurrirular activities. Some presenters had hands-on demonstrations and mathematical challenges to ponder. In all there were 100+ people in attendence including parents, high school students, undergraduate students, high school teachers, college professors and college admissions representatives. Look for the next majors fair to be in the Lehigh Valley. Information will be posted soon in the updoming events section found above.   • SMART Career Day for Middle School Girls
    Saturday, April 16, 2004 1:00 - 4:00pm Northampton Community College
    This was a one day workshop intended to interest middle school girls in the science, math and related technologies. There were hands-on interactive presentations for girls and their parents from area faculty, industry scientist and undergraduate students. Five undergraduate students from Cedar Crest College participated in a panel discussion with parents entitled "Woman Majoring in Science". The audience of parents asked question ranging from, "How did you choose your major?" to "How did you find scholarships?"   • Plymouth Whitemarsh Panel discussion
    Wednesday, March 30, 2004 11:00am - 12:30pm Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, Colonial School District
    Five undergraudate math, science and secondary math/science education majors from Villanova University, Bryn Mawr College and La Salle University participated as panelist in an open dialogue with students from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. The panelist inspired students by sharing their experiences within their major at their institutions. If you are interested in being a panelists for future disucssion at our partner school districts complete the Event Participation Registration Form as soon as possible.
  • Haverford College Undergraduate Research Symposium
    Saturday, November 6, 2004 1-3pm Haverford College
    Haverford College hosted a poster session for undergraduate math and science majors to present their research. The MSPGP recruitment team was able to present a standing display poster which boasted the post baccalaureate programs at our partner colleges. During this time, the team was able to collect a short list of student interested in teaching and disseminate information about the certification process.
